You just had one of the most important days of your life, with a perfectly coiffed hairstyle to boot. Now that the actual wedding is a memory, it's time to let all of the wedding-planning stress melt away while you enjoy your honeymoon. Here are five easy, breezy hairstyles that will seamlessly meld with your much-deserved relaxing vacation. (And even if you’re not honeymooning, these styles are great for a weekend away.)
1. Long, Loose Waves
For those of you with shoulder-length or longer hair, loose waves are as sexy as they are carefree. You can use a one-inch curling iron on large sections of hair for a tousled look, or, if you're honeymooning at a beach location, just braid damp locks after a dip in the ocean and allow it to dry throughout the day. By dinner and drinks, you'll have waves so perfect they’ll put that undulating sea to shame.
2. A Braided Crown
A sweet headband braid looks romantic and boho chic. Take a one-inch section of hair right above your ear, braid it to the ends, pull it over the top of your head and pin with a bobby pin behind the other ear. Gorgeous!
3. A Head Cover-Up
For day-old hair that’s too greasy at the roots to sport on its own, cover it all up with a scarf to hide the scalp while still keeping the lengths down and loose. Fold a square scarf in half to form a triangle, place the longest side directly on your hairline in front and tie the ends underneath your hair at the nape of the neck. This hair accessory also allows you to add an easy pop of color to your ensemble.
4. Top Knot With a Scarf Accent
If your husband loves to see the nape of your neck, coil your hair into a bun on the top of your head and secure it with bobby pins. Then take a silk scarf and tie it around the base of the bun, allowing the ends to hang in the back or to the side. Perfectly pretty.
5. A Low Side Chignon
A low side chignon is an ideal look for evenings or a night out on the town. Gather your hair at the nape of the neck and tie it off with a ponytail holder to one side. Twist the hair into a coil and secure it with bobby pins. This look is best when it's a bit messy, so don't try to perfect the chignon. A few loose hairs falling out adds to the no-fuss look. It is your relaxing honeymoon, after all!
Quick Tip: Be sure to pack some silk scarves for your hair on your honeymoon. They add a touch of bright color and sexiness without too much effort!
