Heat, humidity and wind: Three elements of nature just waiting to destroy your perfectly coiffed locks. What can you do to fight the wild days of summer? Here are four quick and easy tips to stay in control of your hair despite rising temperatures.

1. Use the Proper Product
If sweat-inducing heat and humidity are wrecking your style, be sure to use a product that repels moisture. Pantene has a great anti-humidity product line for adding control and creating a barrier between your hair and sticky air. Additionally, mousses and gels work well to keep your ’do intact without sacrificing control. During the summer season, aim for these types of products instead of hair oils and creams, which can turn hair greasy instead.

2. Deep Condition
If you're spending time at the moisture-sucking beach (thanks to salt water) or the pool (thanks to chlorine), it's crucial to deep condition your hair on a weekly basis. Fekkai Essential Shea Ultra-Rich Hair Mask will keep your ends soft and moisturized while you brave those long days in the sun.

3. Trim Regularly
No matter what measures you take to protect summer hair, frequent trims are mandatory. Even just removing a half-inch off the ends will keep your hair looking fresh, healthy and shiny. So book that appointment stat.

4. Put it Up
Finally, if your hair isn't behaving, throw it all up! A myriad of great updos awaits you for this no-fuss option, from top knots to side ponytails to braids to chignons (just to name a few). Plus, keeping your hair pulled off your neck and face will instantly cool you down. Take that, summer!

Quick Tip: Heat, humidity and sun can wreak havoc on tresses. Make a standing date to deep condition your hair once a week during the summer months to ensure healthy hair.
