The Best!

Who doesn't like easy laundry? You just take a pod (or two if it's a larger load) and throw it in your washer. All the soap is in there! That's it! There are so easy that I have my mom and grandmother using them now. My grandmother likes them because there is no measuring liquid and lifting heavy bottles. My mom loves them because she has RA and has trouble holding large bottles and unscrewing tops that can get stuck. My only wish for Tide Pods is that they would come in the same scents as other Tide products. I would love to see Pods with Downy, With Bleach or Febreeze. I would also like a stronger scent -like Tide original. Tide Oxy Pods would be awesome, too! We love Pods and use them! We see no issue with residue with our front loader.

Great but leaves residue

I have a high efficiency washer and use tide pods. I follow the instructions and all of my black or dark colored clothes come out of the wash with gelatinous residue on them. I tried turning the dark colored items inside-out but this has not helped. The pods are convenient. They do a good job cleaning but the residue is unacceptable. I have not experienced staining.

purple stains

I have been using the Tide Pods for some months now. I started noticing purple stains on my white towels. I have finally decided that it is the Pods that are causing the problem, especially after one of my white shirts has become stained. When I checked online for other complaints I found that I am not alone with this. I also used them per directions. I don't like to have to go back to lugging the heavier Tide detergents, but will be forced to. I am not a happy user right now, but will continue to use Tide liquid because I do like how it cleans - but NO more Pods until they are made safer to use.

invalid coupons

This product is great, especially for letting teens do laundry... however, I have a large family so I coupon and go to store sales. It's the only way to really afford things. But I've had between 20 - 30 coupons shore up invalid. This was before I knew I could buy ads in bulk as well so I spent a lot of $ on papers for these $2 off 1 Tide Pods coupons that I saved up for a big sale. Since then I've only bought this item when I absolutely needed it. Since then a free of their coupons haven't worked and the stores refuse to input them so be careful.

Residue all over several loads of clothes

I have previously used tide pods with no issues, but recently, this has not been the case. When I had city water, the pods worked like a dream - now that I am on a well, its more like a nightmare. Loads of all sizes come out with melted in pod residue. I have tried reducing my load size (washed a load of three towels on a full load size), to no avail. I suspect it is my well water that is causing issues with the disintegration of the pod. Going back to liquid detergent ASAP.

Pod Disaster

I used the Tide Pods to do my laundry. I have never had a problem with them before, but the last couple of times I have done my laundry, the plastic that surrounds the detergent has melted into my clothes. It has completely ruined three of my shirts and damaged many more. I will not be buying these anymore.

My whites are GREY!!!

I have been using Tide pods for about 8 months and I love the concept-- BUT I've been noticing that my white things are now a silver gray color and my husband even remarked that his socks look a little blueish!!! I am returning the 2 bags I have and will look for something without that pretty blue and orange color, and see if I can salvage my laundry.

Ruins Clothes

It was at first really awesome because it was easy to use, but then after using them for all semester, more often than not my clothes have been RUINED by Tide Pods! I thought at first it was a problem with my college's laundry machines, but it's because the Tide Pods don't dissolve quick enough and then gunk up on my clothes like dried gum and ruin them! So many cute clothes ruined! It's really quite unfortunate because it would seem like a great and easy way to wash your clothes, but it's really only a great and easy way to ruin them.

Use Liquid Tide, Tide Pods Ruin Clothes

When it comes to laundry detergent I only use the Tide brand. Typically I use liquid Tide, but thought I would try the Tide pods. Even when following the directions of how to use the Tide pods, I have had many items of clothes ruined because of this product. While I've had the previously mentioned purple stains, the most frequent happening is the outer plastic melting into clumps on the clothing. Overall, stick to the liquid!

Left Bleach Spot

I have used the pods for about 5 washings of my sheets. Loved the ease of the pod and love the scent. Today, I have a large bleach spot on one of my pillow cases after washing with a pod. I'm not happy. If I knew there was a chance of that I would never have used the pods. Never again, they went in the trash.

Thought they were good...

I have refused to buy Tide Pods again as I have had two instances where they have not dissolved all the way and left a purple stain and plastic stuck to two different shirts (one was white!). I have been able to get it dissolved out of the second shirt after being able to figure out what it was but I am not sure I'll be able to get it out of the first shirt since it has been a little while. I will be trying as soon as I'm done leaving this review. I was looking for an easier way to do laundry without having to lift the heavy bottles of liquid, and while this is only twice in 6-7 months of using them, it is not easier when having to re-rinse clothing to get the melted Pod to completely dissolve.

Melted All Over My Clothes

I thought Tide Pods were great until I did my most recent load of laundry and discovered that the Tide Pod had melted all over 2 of my work shirts, ruining them. The pod left hardened white stains from the coating of the pod on the shirts that will not come off. They were my favorite shirts and I was very upset that they were ruined. I'm going back to regular laundry detergent immediately. The pods are horrible. I won't risk ruining my clothes again.

Does not dissolve quick enough

This shouldn't even be recommended for side-loaders simply because it takes too long to dissolve. Worked okay for my top-loader on the 2nd try after I let it dissolve in the full drum of water before dropping clothes in and starting the rest of the wash cycle. Took about 8 to 10 minutes to start breaking down before the water becomes diluted with it. Hope that helps for those stuck with the product like me.

Stained whites

I have used Tide for years and was delighted to try the Tide pods. I thought I was using them successfully until I started to notice lavender/blue splotches on my husband's white undershirts. Eventually, my whites have become stained also. I realize now that this is a Tide Pod problem. I used them correctly and any efforts of remediation (using bleach, re-washing, etc., etc.) do not work as the clothes have been washed AND dried and those stains are SET. Thanks for nothing, Tide. I will be using other detergents from now on.

Eczema Alert!

I am a long time Tide user. I usually use Tide liquid original scent for HE washers. I tried the Pods and at first they were great. No drips, easy to use and the same tide clean. After a few weeks my 7 year old broke out in a bad Eczema rash all over his shorts area, armpits and belly. He's had Eczema in the past but we've had it under control for a few years and it was never this bad. After some detective work and elimination I realized it was the pods. I will use Liquid Tide again but not until his rash is gone. For now it's organic dye free scent free stuff. Just wanted to let other mom's and everyone know that the Pods are not for sensitive skin.

Totally Poor Product

I tried the Tide pods because Tide powder, which I would normally use, is no longer available. Like many others have pointed out, this product is the absolute worst. As others have noted, the pods do not always dissolve completely. And before someone from P&G customer service replies to ask, the answer is yes I do put the pods in the drum first and NO the machine is not overloaded! Nonetheless, I still end up with purple blotches on my clothes. Before, whenever I did a load of laundry, I always programmed an extra rinse cycle. However, since I've been using the pods I find it necessary to add an extra, extra rinse cycle - and even that does not always work. Ocassionally, I still end up with purple blotches from the undissolved pod. Having to add an extra, extra rinse is obviously a complete waste of energy and water, and it's a step I should not have to take! The idea of the pods is commendable however execution is sorely lacking. Designers need to go back to the drawing board and find a better dissolving material to encapsulate the detergent. I guess I'll have to start using the liquid from now on.

I just did a load of lights and as I emptied the dryer folding everything I found the pod completely intact. I put it in the washing machine first, it was a large but not an oversized load of light weight items. I guess I'm really lucky it didn't open in the dryer, but now I have very nicely folded dirty clothes I have to wash again. I love the concept but I won't buy again.

I've been a Tide user for many years so I assumed the Pods would do a great job with less work. I will have to discard the rest of the Pods I'm sorry to say.

Tide Pods

Absolutely hate this product! I was done washing my clothes so I put them in the dryer. When I took them out I noticed a hard light purple spot on my clothes. I soon realized that it was what was left of the pod. It apartently did not disolve all the way when they were getting washed so when I dried my clothes they were little hard spot on multiple clothing. So I washed them again with a liquid digergant from a different brand, and it turned out great! No hard spots and I didn't have to wash my clothes twice. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Pods are extremely dissappointing

For some reason P&G is blocking my critique of their Tide Pods. Tide Pods has ruined many of my things. I always fill tub up completely after adding pod and only then add items. I never overload. Still get pink/purple stains on sheets, towels, clothing, uniforms, etc. Just this morning filled tub for large load, adding pod at beginning, walked away for 30 mins then returned to add 1 set of king size sheets. I usually also hand dissolve the pod and sometimes even agitate the machine before adding clothing. I didn't this morning because it had 30 mins to dissolve. Or so I thought. Wrong, My top sheet came out stained, and ruined. Wont' come out. Thanks P& G. I have had it . Since you can't fix the problem I am switching to different brand. $75.00 at least for new set of king size sheets.

I am so upset this pod ruined a TON of my family's clothing before I realized this was actually the culprit! There is a problem with Pods

We have been washing clothes for decades and have used Tide exclusively for all of these years. We recently switched to Tide Pods and immediately noticed bluish/purple stains appearing on clothes, bed sheets, and wash cloths. The stains seem to be particularly bad in the perspiration area of shirts. Numerous clothes have been ruined. The Pods are always put in first, we never overload the machine, and the washers are less than two years old. There is a problem!

Pod Problems!!!

After washing my FAVORITE white Chico's shirt in warm water and air drying, i was preparing to wear it when I noticed the fabric was overlapped near the button edge and "glued" together. When I tried to investigate it ripped a large hole in my shirt!! Underneath was a blueish spot so it appears that the pod glued my shirt together! Very frustrated! :(

College Woes

I used Tide Pods as a sophomore in college and I also used them as a freshman. Last year, they did alright, but occasionally left a gooey/sticky mess on my clothes from the plastic pod. This year, they've dyed blue splotches in many of my favorite clothes (luckily it washed out with warm water and stain remover). As I write this, at least five of my clothes are being re-washed for the third time this semester. I'm switching ASAP to a different brand.

Easy to use

I bought the Pods because they seem faster and cleaner. I just bought a new washer the front loader Duet. For some reason the pod is exploding on our clothes. Every few loads I see purple or sticky stuff on our clothes. I really like the idea of the pods I just don't feel like the new batch I bought is dissolving as well as it used to in my old washer. I don't know if I can keep using them if this keeps happening. Pods are a GREAT concept. I just wish they dissolved more efficiently.

This product has a problem. It leaves blue stains on white or lightly colored (ex.; light yellow) and other garments. Only Detergent I Use In Washing Machine!

Use Tide Pods HE as soon as they came out. At first I did not use it correctly, and learned how to use it correctly when I called Tide. They kindly educated me. Learned to place the pod at the bottom of the tub and towards the front, UNDER the clothes. Never had a problem after that. Use it in conjunction with Tide Liquid HE directly on stains as soon as I discover a stain. By the time I do laundry, the Tide Liquid HE would be dry. Then I used Tide Pods HE in the laundry room and Laundromat. Love it because it does not make a mess. They are easy to transport in a plastic bag. If kept around for a long time, the white part becomes dark, but it still works just as well. Know of no other brand that works as well!

Tide Pods stained son's Boy Scout uniform

I used your Tide Pods for the first time today...well I am totally disappointed in your product as now my son's Boy Scout uniform as well as school clothes are totally ruined with blue stains all over the clothes...he is supposed to rank up for Court of Honor for Boy Scouts later today, and does not have his First Class Uniform to wear! He is becoming a Life Scout which is 1 rank below Eagle. Now it looks like he doesn't have a uniform to wear-which is required for the event. I am disabled and on a limited income, and the cost of a Boy Scout uniform as well as school clothes is not in my budget! I will NEVER again use your product! Thanks for the disappointment and ruining my son's big day! I followed the instructions on Consumer Reports about trying to rinse and use alcohol and repeat-it hardly made a difference.

Purple Stains!

I have been a Tide user forever. Anytime I try a brand I am disappointed. I love the idea of the Tide pods for making the laundry one tiny bit easier. I started noticing purple stains on my husbands white t-shirts (just about the only white clothes in my household). I could not figure out what he was doing to get these stains. And then I realized they weren’t on the shirts BEFORE I washed them and it occurred to me that it’s from the Pods. I do everything “right”... Pod in first, not overloading at all, not using delicate, cycle runs a full-length, wash in warm, etc. But still we get stains every time on whatever shirt happened to be sitting on top of the pod. Very disappointing. Fortunately for me these are all undershirts, so not visible. And the stain does eventually wash out on it’s own. No more pods for me. I’m giving the Gain pods a try right now, but I’m guessing Tide liquid will be back on my list. These should NOT be used for whites of any kind.

tide pods tint some of my whites blue...permanently. it's not a spot stain that will wash out with a second rinsing. it's there to stay. the pods permanently tint elastic waist bands and other white accents on my athletic clothing, usually synthetic materials. none of P&Gs responses are satisfactory. rinsing again does not fix the problem and adding the pod first to my washer is not an option as I have a front loading machine. disappointed. the concept and convenience is great. too bad P&G only offers do's and don'ts as a response to the many online complaints instead of offering to revamp the product to alleviate the problem.

I am so unhappy with this product. It has ruined my good towels and sheets leaving purple stains. They will not come out. I will not be using this product any more, nor any Tide product and I've been a lifelong Tide user. Advising my grown children to also choose other brands. The pod was supposed to be a product of convenience, not one I'd have to use only with special care. How can a detergent include an ingredient that will leave permanent blue stains on white cotton? Under ANY circumstances? No thank you. Your marketing has gotten ahead of the functional use of your products.

Wanted to Love It... Ruined my Shirt

I was really excited to use Tide Pods because they seemed so well-designed and convenient! I had never read any reviews for the product and had only seen commercials. I followed the directions carefully and didn't notice anything wrong with my clothes until I was hanging them up to dry and noticed that one of the pods had melted onto a shirt. Part of the shirt was wrinkled and the fabric seemed almost glued together. My ruined shirt is now soaking in hot water to dissolve the plastic but I had already torn a hole in it trying to smooth out the fabric. Then I went online and saw that a lot of people had the the same problem as me or had problems with stains. I wish I hadn't wasted money buying the pods because now I have to go out and buy regular detergent. What a disappointment. I would never recommend this product.

Stains clothes, leaves sticky residue "lump"

I am tired of seeing people being told that if instructions are followed as directed, the pods will dissolve completely. This is not true. I've had a sticky residue "lump" left on my clothes at least three times, (doesn't come off, btw) and now my favorite white shorts are stained with a blue streak. There are times I have to fill the washer completely and the pod still doesn't dissolve, and then I have to run it with no clothes in for a minute to get the pods to pop. Then I have to add the clothes, pushing them down into the water. FAR from convenient! It's sad when you have to check your clothes completely when they come out of the washer to make sure you don't set the stains by putting them directly into the dryer. And the sticky lump will also remain on your clothes after the dryer. Again...how is this more convenient?
