There’s a lot of variety to winter – from the unpredictability of the weather to the range of family and friend celebrations. Our hair is no different. The diversity of the season helps determine the look for the day, from father winter’s snow and rain to wind and even sunshine. Let’s face it; no one wants curls getting wet.
Here are three fresh looks that run the spectrum of the season – no matter what twists and turns lie ahead. And don’t be afraid to play a little, and put your own unique spin on each one.
Put a Hat on it
Hats are multipurpose: they keep you warm, they add to an ensemble and they can also conceal the inevitable bad hair day. A wool beret, knit cap or beanie can still showcase your hair while keeping you warm. Wavy hair, straight hair, braids, doesn’t matter. Even a simple style is taken to the next level with the right hat.
Dress it up
Get your hair up and out of the way with this step-by-step chignon. Make it as messy or sleek as you’d like – depending on whether you’re going out for a night on the town or a night of toy shopping. Secure with some Pantene hairspray. Add a jeweled barrette or band for that extra touch.
This is an especially chic option for an evening out. Channel your 1920s flapper self with retro ringlets. Get this vintage look with old-school plastic rollers (yes they still sell them in local drugstores), and wrap them horizontally. Let them dry slowly – either air-dry or with your blow-dryer on a low, cooler setting. Spray with Pantene Flexible Hold Hairspray before the curls are fully dry. If you want to go the hot rollers route, just be sure to spray your hair with Pantene’s Heat Protection Spray. Try parting your hair to one side, keeping the curls loose and adding a barrette for a little fancy.
