3 Chic Styles for Second-day Hair

No time to wash your locks? These quick-fix style tips are perfect for “dirty” hair days.

Most women don’t have time to wash and blow-dry their hair every day. And for lots of us, there are weeks when a couple days go by before fitting an appointment at a salon is possible.

“Dirty” hair days don’t have to mean bad hair days, though! If you’ve got these simple tricks up your sleeve and a few reliable accessories, These quick hairstyles for can make the difference between feeling good about how you look and feeling fabulous.

1. Polish Your Ponytail
If you’ve got long hair, ponytails are likely one of your go-to hairstyles when you have to get out the door. Use this new take on the ponytail and start by brushing hair then spritzing with a heat-protectant styling spray, which not only prevents damage but also gives hair a glossy sheen.

Next, working in 1- to 2-inch sections, run a flat iron through your hair. When you’re finished, part your hair with a comb just above the arch of one eyebrow. Form a low ponytail at the nape of your neck, using an elastic band without a clasp.

Finally, put a dime-size drop of anti-frizz serum on your palms and smooth down those wispy strands at your hairline and the rest of your hair working from the part down.

2. Make it a Beach Day
One of the more popular hairstyles for “dirty” hair, loose waves give long locks the va-va-voom volume that’s a regular look on the red carpet.

Begin detangling with a comb and follow with a protective heat-styling spray. Next, starting from the bottom of your scalp and working up, hold a hot curling iron vertically. Working in 2-inch sections, wrap hair around the outside of the iron and release after 10 seconds. (Don’t touch those ringlets until you’ve completed curling all of your hair.)

To finish, spritz on a saltwater or anti-humidity spray and gently run your fingers through your curls. You’ll look like you stepped right off the sand!

3. Do the Ballerina Bun
Working with the bottom layers first, section off your hair. Spritz with a heat styling spray, and then use a curling iron with a 1-inch barrel to curl your hair.

Next, make a high ponytail, twisting shorter strands beneath the ponytail and secure it with bobby pins. Spritz on a little hairspray, and then divide the ponytail into small sections, twisting each one and pinning it to your head, hiding the ponytail holder in the process. Finish with a blast of hairspray.
