Here are four stylish, ’60s-inspired hairstyles that look just as chic today.

Mod magic is always chic, so if you like the retro look, try some of these easy-to-create ’60s hairstyles that are still super stylish today.

1. An Amped-Up Pony
The ’60s meant business in regard to big hair. One of the easiest ways to achieve the look today is to backcomb the crown of your hair before pulling into a low ponytail. Let any bangs or shorter layers around the face fall down and frame your cheekbones.

2. ’60s Model-Inspired Short Cuts
Pixie love is back in a big way, with tons of women requesting looks inspired by those iconic celebs who sported a short crop during the ’60s. This easy, chic look is a breeze to style in the morning, but isn't for the faint of heart. Be sure to consider all the pros and cons before making the big chop!

3. Big Volume
This ’60s style plays up the classic bouffant look, but with a twist. To get the look, try backcombing the front and back sections of your hair across your crown. Then, pull back the front bang area and pin it in place with bobby pins. Finish with a flexible-hold hairspray, and you're good to go!

4. Go Long and Free
Sure, the first half of the decade involved a ridiculous amount of hairspray and backcombing, but the late ’60s beckoned a whole new look — long, loose, shaggy locks that signified the start of peace, love, and hippie-dom. If you want to rock the loose mane, be sure it is in super healthy condition. Frequent trims and weekly deep conditioning treatments will keep it soft and manageable.
