5 Outdoor Party Hair Looks That Won’t Go Flat
Five easy hairstyles in a variety of looks for an outdoor party that wont go flat.

Party hair can be tough to master, especially if the festivities are held outdoors during the sweltering summer season. There are a multitude of factors just waiting to mess up that perfect hairdo of yours: wind, oppressive heat, downright horrible humidity — you name it. The key is either getting hair up and off your face in a style that stays put or working with your natural texture and going for a loose, boho vibe. Here are five options to consider.
1. The High Bun
If you haven't already surmised from past articles, the high bun (or top knot) is my staple updo. It's just so easy and chic and lovely. (And did I mention easy?) The best part about wearing this look outdoors is you won't need to fuss with your hair at all. Just sit back and enjoy the party!
2. Beachy Waves
Sometimes you just need to work with the summer elements rather than fighting against them, and there's no better way to do this than donning loose, natural-looking waves. A warm July night coupled with beachy curves and swerves equals boho chic to the 100th -degree. Be sure you opt for a wave-enhancing product that boasts anti-humidity protection to keep the frizzies at bay.
3. Bold Braids
Whether you craft a small braid across your temples or weave a sideswept fishtail braid, adding a plait to your hair always adds a bit more drama to your look.
4. The Pixie
This is the hairstyle I've personally been contemplating on getting this year, since the right pixie cut can tend to look so incredibly feminine and gamine. I imagine a pixie would look downright lovely with a dress that highlights the neck and shoulders. And, really, could there be any other style that’s (literally) cooler than this cropped option during the sizzling months?
5. Blinging ’Dos
Buns and braids aside, the best way to amp up your party look is to add an accessory or two. Vintage pins, colorful feathers, sparkly headbands and grosgrain ribbons are just a few iterations that come to mind. In fact, adding an accessory to any of the above four looks would be a lovely way to ensure a particularly festive style.
