1. Like many updos, it’s important to start with unwashed hair. When your hair has a little bit of texture and oil, the hair will stay put better. However, you can also achieve that texture by adding product. After washing and towel drying, apply a product like Pantene Texturizing Sculpting Wax before drying for a little bit of hold.

2. Using a paddle or large brush, smooth and work your hair into a high ponytail at the crown of the head. Secure it with an elastic.

3. Holding on to the end of the ponytail, start twisting it through the ends. Coil the twist around itself at the base of the ponytail.

4. Secure the top knot with spin or bobby pins. If you have thick, fine or slippery hair, use as many pins as necessary to keep the bun in place. Finally, spray hair with a secure hold hair spray like Pantene Extra Strong Hold Hairspray .

5. Enjoy your beautiful, practical and perfect top knot!
