4 Beauty Essentials for Sunny Days

Keep the damaging ultraviolet rays at bay with our 4 sun-protecting beauty must-haves.

With warmer temperatures and vacation season right around the corner, you will probably find yourself spending more time outdoors enjoying the sunny weather. Whether you are relaxing by the beach or taking part in some outdoor activities, protecting your skin from the sun is essential. So here’s a list of four skin-protecting items that belong in your beauty bag this season.

1. Sunscreen
When you think of sunscreen, you probably think about those thick, oily lotions that seem impossible to blend into your skin. And while those heavy products do offer protection from the sun, you can easily find products more suited for your daily lifestyle. 2-in-1 sunscreens not only leave a little more room in your beauty bag, they also provide you with an added skincare bonus.

We love Olay’s Complete SPF 15 All Day Moisturizer with Sunscreen. Its lightweight formula provides intense, highly absorbent moisture and helps prevent premature skin damage that can result from the sun’s harmful rays.

2. Hats, Cover-ups and Protective Clothing
These must-have accessories aren’t merely for fashion’s sake. While hats protect your face and scalp from the sun’s rays, cover-ups and fabrics with Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) can provide protection for the rest of your body. (It’s always safe to double up with sunscreen, too.) So whether you are planning on spending the day lounging by the pool or heading to an outdoor lunch on the patio with friends, adding a hat or cover-up to your look will be both stylish and smart.

3. Makeup
So maybe it’s not technically a “must-have,” but you really can’t go wrong adding a touch of SPF makeup to your sunny look. Try a foundation that provides smooth coverage with added sun protection.

Just remember: Wearing makeup does not create a barrier between the sun and your skin. Unless your makeup specifically says it has SPF in it, you are likely leaving yourself open to sunburns.

4. Sunglasses
Sunglasses are the perfect way to shield your eyes from the glaring sunshine. Did you know they can also be instrumental in protecting your eyes and the skin surrounding them? Just be sure to look for a lens that offers UV protection, since UV rays don’t just affect your skin, they can also have dangerous effects on your eyes — especially when the sun reflects off the water.

With these four sunny essentials, you’ll stay pretty and protected all summer long. What are your go-to items for sun protection? Let us know in the comments below.

Thank you for this tips. But only makeup for my skin in summer can't be effective. I'm having few marks on my thighs and stomach. Due to this I can't wear those summer sunny days clothes. Can I use massaging for this issues? Or suggest something different. http://www.cellublue.com
