5 Sneaky Ways to Make It Look Like You're Not Wearing Any Makeup

Love the no-makeup look, but can’t dare to go bare? Try these genius tips.

Fact: Naturally dewy skin, bright eyes, a subtle glow, and a clear complexion are all beautiful things. But unfortunately, not everyone was blessed with such enviable attributes. Factors like stress, sleep deprivation, and, of course, small children who wake up, oh, once every hour some nights all contribute to less than ideal skin and a glow that's about as shiny as a cracker. But! There are steps you can take if you love the #nomakeup look, yet don't feel super comfy, you know, going makeup-free.

Behold, five easy makeup tricks that, ironically, make it look like you're wearing nothing but a good night's sleep on your face.

1. Use a tinted moisturizer. Forget foundation and powder if you want a flawless complexion and the no-makeup look. Reach for tinted moisturizer instead, which is much thinner and makes you look much less "made up" than foundation. You can use it alone, or put it over your regular moisturizer. It'll give skin an extra glow while it provides a little coverage and evens everything out.

2. Reach for that mascara. A couple of swipes of your go-to lash-boosting and darkening product can make a huge difference, particularly in the morning when your "no makeup" look is as real as it gets.

3. Use self-tanner for a healthy glow. If you want to forgo a "tinting" moisturizer altogether, your best bet for an even complexion -- and a serious glow -- is a facial self-tanner (like Olay Total Effects Moisturizer Plus Sunless Tanner).

4. Go with a cream blush instead of a powder blush. Nobody really looks "matte" when they don't have any makeup on, so opting for a cream blush, which will give you a flushed-looking glow, is perfect for an all-natural look. Use sparingly, and rub onto the apples of your cheeks and anywhere you might naturally blush. Act outraged when someone accuses you of wearing makeup.

5. Emphasize your brows. As ridiculous as it may sound, coiffing your eyebrows can totally transform your look. Brows that are filled in and well-maintained can make even the most disheveled of people look pulled together. If you're not a makeup person, but want to look polished, filling in your brows is key. After tweezing your brows, fill in the gaps of hair with either a brow powder or pencil. Voila! You're ready to go.

What are your best tips for getting that no-makeup look?
