Your wedding day should be one of the best days of your life, so — of course — you want to look perfect. Above all, though, you need to look like yourself — so a day like your wedding day isn’t the best time to try new trends or ideas. The loveliest brides always look fresh, natural, and most of all, like the most gorgeous version of themselves. Whether you’re the blushing bride or just looking to try a natural look at your next event, here is a simple tutorial on achieving an elegant and natural style that will look incredible on (and off) camera.

  1. Start by using a product to blend any imperfections or redness. Many ladies have the tendency to go overboard with foundation on their wedding day, but that doesn’t have to be the case! Tinted moisturizer, a light foundation or even a CC cream will give instant coverage and correction to the skin. Apply a bit of under eye concealer as well.

  2. Keep the overall eye palette neutral — getting a kit with a few varieties will ensure at least one or two are great for your skin tone.

  3. Line your eyes with a deep brown or bronze eyeliner to make them pop.

  4. Mascara makes all the difference for a wedding look. Choosing a great waterproof formula is key, since the last thing you need on your big day is a set of raccoon eyes! To enhance your natural lashes, try a clump-free formula.

  5. Next, add a little bit of bronzer on your forehead, nose and chin for a beautiful glow. (Don’t forget your neck, too!)

  6. After bronzing, add a rosy pink blush to the apples of your cheeks for the perfect flush.

  7. Finally, choose a lip gloss or lipstick that is similar to your lip color, but a bit deeper and more intense. It makes for a stunning portrait!
