8 Mom-on-the-Go Must Haves

No matter how on-the-go you are, these 8 items cover all your bases.

Saying "I'm a mom" and "I'm super busy" is basically saying the same thing: It's just go, go, go all the time.

Between jobs, household upkeep, errands, playdates and getting the kids to all their activities, it's truly a miracle that we don't look like a hobo on most days. Thanks to these eight essentials, however, we can look decent all week (or maybe six days — we’re not judging here).

Here are mom-on-the-go must-haves for looking chic and stylish among the masses.

Ponytail Holders and Bobby Pins
We know, we know. A ponytail? How boring. Just because it’s a ponytail holder doesn’t mean it can only hold a ponytail, though. Forget the pony, ladies! Try a topknot or some fun braids. Topknots are easier than you think.

Light-Reflecting Concealer
Do you have kids under 2 years old? If the answer is yes, we feel for you and your dearly departed ability to get a good-night’s sleep. If you’re finding the lack of Zs is putting a strain on your looks, rejoice: A light-reflecting concealer instantly adds brightness to dark under-eye circles — and possibly fools your friends and neighbors into thinking you're Little Miss Well-Rested.

Shaving cream is no longer a must-have when you
use the Gillette Venus and Olay Razor.
With five blades and a built-in, water-activated lather that locks in moisture, saving time has never been easier. And your legs never smoother.

Two words: park playdates. Be sure to liberally apply sunscreen to your face and neck every day. Be sure to apply it to the kids, too. Putting them (and yourself) in the habit of wearing it everyday will ensure you keep elastic, young-looking skin for as long as possible.

Lip Gloss
A natural, rosy pink gloss really adds a nice touch to your overall look. Keep it minimal, though, so you don’t transfer it to your little ones when they give you a smooch.

Scarf or Statement Necklace
Do you have a mom uniform? While your wardrobe may consist of the same types of items in different, utilitarian colors and patterns, being able to “get dressed in the dark” and walk out the door looking good can be misconstrued as boring. Remedy this with one of two items: a colorful scarf or necklace can take you from ho-hum to totally chic in three seconds flat.

Slouchy Hobo Bag
A slouchy medium-sized bag serves two purposes: It looks stylish and can carry all sorts of kid-related gear without yelling diaper bag.

Skinnies in a Fun Color
A great alternative to traditional denim or yoga pants is a pair of bright skinny jeans. Pair them with the items on this list and you'll be one hot mama, indeed!

Ballet Flats
Finally, forget the heels (for now). As moms, we don’t have time to be worrying about keeping our balance, scuffs or walking into the grass. Get a darling pair of ballet flats that can take you from running errands to date night in an instant.

With these eight items, you’ll be able to get through anything your day throws at you looking stylish, fun and put-together — even if it seems like you had to go to the ends of the world to get to dinner.
