1. “Open your mouth when you’re applying foundation. It prevents the line at the jawbone.” -- Lisa G., Benton, Arkansas

2. “If you’re not sure where to put your blush, start two finger-widths from your nose.” -- Kelly O., Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico

3. “After applying my eye shadow, I love to apply a thin white line right under my kohl/eyeliner to really make the black pop.” -- Anonymous

4. “Apply liquid foundation with a foundation makeup brush. It looks perfect and airbrushed, and you don’t waste your product on an absorbent makeup sponge or your hands.” -- Anonymous

5. “Line under the top eyelashes on the ‘waterline.’ It makes eyelashes look great. Liquid liner works best.” -- Sig H., Oakland, California

6. “When you wake up, put your pencil eyeliner in the fridge or freezer so it will be chilled when you’re ready to put it on. It keeps the pencil from getting too soft and smudgy.” -- Jessica, Salt Lake City, Utah

7. “If you need to hide dark circles under your eyes, pop on that concealer in a triangle shape.” (One side of the triangle is under your eye, the other is against your nose, and the other goes between your nostril and the outer edge of your eye.) -- Anonymous

8. “The better care you take of your skin, the better your makeup looks.” -- Anonymous

9. “I’ve always had a problem with my lipstick wearing off too quickly. When I noticed my liner lasted much longer, I started filling my lips in with liner and then, applying clear gloss over the top to make it shine like lipstick. It works!” -- Alison J., San Francisco, California
