Ah, television — so many leading ladies, so many different looks. However, if you had to choose the most talked-about and sought-after looks on the tube, they would most likely be those long, loose waves seen on countless TV celebrities. Here's the lowdown on how to achieve the look.

The Key is Preparation
Before even considering a curling iron, make sure your hair is clean, super smooth, hydrated and tangle free. Be sure to condition thoroughly during your shower routine and apply a heat-protectant like Pantene Heat Protection & Shine Spray to damp hair post-shower.

Blow dry hair with a round brush, making sure to smooth any kinks or curls. You want your hair to look as smooth as possible before adding waves.

The Curling-Iron Technique
You can achieve celebrity-worthy waves using several techniques, but the most popular are created with curling irons. For beachy waves, try wrapping 1- to 2-inch sections of your hair around a curling iron without using the clamp. These produce a much less refined type of wave and is nice and casual for every day.

The second technique requires a traditional clamp curling iron to curl the hair. However, you want to start mid-shaft and gently pull the section of hair through the iron.

Shine, Shine, Shine

After you've created your perfect wavy masterpiece, be sure to spritz a little bit of shine spray to your tresses to complete the look. Voilà, you are ready for the small screen!
