Love it or hate it, guys have surprisingly strong feelings about women and makeup. Some think women look better au naturel, others think it shows a woman wants to present her best self to the world, and still others think a little goes a long way. Find out the innermost thoughts of these men when it comes to women and beauty.

1. “I’m sure every guy says this, but I really do think my wife looks better without makeup. First thing in the morning, or fresh out of a shower -- she looks beautiful.”

2. “I think a little makeup goes a long way. Like lipstick -- it makes me feel like my wife took special care to look nice for me. But the other stuff -- all the eye makeup -- isn’t needed.”

3. “My wife spends no less than 45 minutes ‘putting on her face’ as she calls it. I think it’s a waste of time. I’d be happy if she wore nothing.’

4. “I grew up with six sisters and they all wore makeup. My mom wore makeup when I was a kid, and at the age of 80, she still wears it. Now I have a wife and two daughters -- all makeup-wearing females. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that women wear makeup like guys watch sports. It’s just innate.”

5. “I think my wife looks nice with makeup. I feel like it shows she cares about the way she presents herself to the world. My version of makeup is putting gel in my hair.”

6. “My young boys, ages 2 and 4, love watching my wife put makeup on in the morning. They could care less watching me shave my face or do my grooming, but the love and admiration they have for my wife’s beauty routine is sweet.”

7. “My wife never wore makeup. That’s one of the things that attracted me to her.”

8. “Actually, I don’t know if my wife wears a lot of makeup or a little, I just know she’s happy with the way she looks and so am I.”

9. “My 9-year-old daughter asked for makeup for her birthday. I think it’s sad that it starts so young. Girls -- and women -- shouldn’t hide behind the fake stuff.”

10. “Sometimes I wish I could wear makeup! Those days I’m breaking out, or have deep circles under my eyes -- bring on the cover-up!”

11. “All I know is that our medicine cabinet is chock full of beauty products. I have a deodorant and floss. The other 99 percent of the stuff is my wife’s. I don’t even know what half the stuff is.”

12. “The way I look at it, my wife should do whatever makes her happy (who cares what I think?). If wearing makeup, coloring her hair, and getting regular manicures makes her feel good, then go for it. I’ll stick to my $10 monthly haircut and call it a day.”
