The spring runways were full of prints. And there was something for every type of fashionista!

Stripes were one of the most popular patterns. There were nautical inspired horizontal stripes and retro vertical stripes on everything from dresses to jumpsuits.

Polka dots were equally trendy. While some designers showcased traditional dots, others took a more subtle approach with soft metallic patterns.

Like they do every year, florals bloomed for spring. The most popular flower prints were watercolor in both pastel and vibrant shades. There was also an island influence with tropical flowers splattered over dresses and gowns that begged to be worn on a beach vacation.

Many designers also looked towards tribal elements for spring. The result? There were Aztec-inspired prints on dresses and jackets across the board.

Another popular trend were geometric prints. The optical illusion spread from casual pants to evening chiffon gowns.

How to Wear Them
There are many ways to wear spring's popular prints. You can choose one standout piece, like a polka dot dress or floral blazer and pair it with solids you already have in your closet. Or, take a fashion risk and combine prints! The trick is to sticking to one color palette. Black and white is easiest. You can then use a pop of color in your accessories to spruce up your look.

Another thing to remember when combining prints is to think about the size of the pattern. Pair small stripes with thicker lines or pair pint-size polka dots with a larger graphic pattern. And don't forget to have fun with your look! That's what playing with prints is all about.
