When temperatures drop, it can seem like staying warm and looking good are mutually exclusive. But with some strategic layering and creative combinations, it is possible to feel comfy and confident, both indoors and outdoors.
Here are some of our favorite stylish ways to cover up in the cold.
A little layering goes a long way. We like to start with a thinner, breathable knit top that we’re comfortable wearing on its own. Then we add a sweater or poncho and top it off with a scarf. As the day goes on, just add and remove layers as needed.
For really cold days, we’ll layer multiple wintry items (e.g., turtleneck sweater plus down vest) and skip the big bulky coat.
Don’t shy from summer clothes
All winter long, we layer our summer tanks, tees – even dresses – underneath warmer pieces. One of our fave combos is a lightweight, long-sleeved top underneath a sundress, along with leggings and a patterned blanket scarf.
Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!
Winter accessories can put the finishing touch on an outfit – and help keep you warm. We love adding belts to oversized sweaters or tunics and topping things off with a stylish wide-brimmed hat or bandana.
Lots of winter accessories can’t be washed, so we always have some Febreze Fabric Refresher handy to keep coats, scarves and hats smelling fresh.
