Kids’ soccer games seem to be more intense these days. And you can’t get by with just a bottle of water and orange slices. Here are some tips for being equipped for game day that you can always have in your car just in case.

First aid kit to keep in the car:

  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Sterile gauzes and a small pair of scissors to cut them
  • Surgical tape
  • Antibiotic topical gel
  • Bandages of all sizes
  • Alcohol wipes
  • Instant cold bag (the disposable kind)
  • Oral analgesic

Other things that are great to have at the ready:

  • Baby wipes
  • Sunscreen spray
  • Sunscreen stick to apply on the nose and cheeks
  • Lip protection stick
  • Insect repellent
  • T-shirts for my kids to change, if necessary
  • Caps

While you obviously can’t keep snacks in your car indefinitely, some good snacks to have that you can grab as you head out the door are:

  • Granola bars
  • Fresh fruit
  • Nuts
  • Raisins

Last but not least, bring a beach umbrella and chairs. Still apply sunscreen before leaving the house, and bring your cap and sunglasses, but the umbrella adds extra protection from the sun and will help keep you cool.

How do you prepare to go to the soccer field?
