There are so many little (and big) things about our kids that we moms adore -- the lists are just endless, when we sit down and think about them, really! I mean, all that cuteness! That creativity! That joy! We love it almost all, I know. But if you consider the very individual, personal traits of each of your kids that you admire most, maybe because they inspire you, or have changed you in some way, helped you grow, or just fill you with wonder or awe, what would those be? Here, 10 moms share their answers to that question.

1. “My daughter’s sweetness always overwhelms me. She is partially paralyzed from a car accident, but she never gets angry or frustrated by the things she cannot do. She takes everything in stride. She is just the most pleasant, sweet person I know despite this massive tragedy.” -- Annika B., New Jersey

2. “My daughter is so hard-headed, it drives me nuts sometimes. But it’s also one of the things I admire her for most. She will never give in, or give up. That kid can stand her ground, even when she’s standing all alone, like no one else I know.” -- Mimi S., Colorado

3. “My son has no fear. It’s terrifying for me as a parent, many days, but I have to admire him for it. He literally grabs the bull by the horns, as the expression goes. I feel like he lives a fuller life for it. It’s a great attitude and one that inspires me to face my fears, and also to try to just let many of them go, which is NOT easy!” -- Mae L., New York

4. “My kid is so funny. Even when I’m mad or upset, she can make me laugh really hard. I love her laugh too. It’s contagious, and it reminds me to not take life -- or myself -- so seriously all the time.” -- Meg D., New York

5. “My one son is really focused, and I love that about him. He always knows what he wants, and will work as hard as he has to, to reach any goal he sets for himself. And he always sets the bar really high. It’s definitely inspiring. My other son’s his opposite though, and is totally laid back about everything. Sometimes, I wish he took life more seriously, but then when I think about it, he has his own great outlook on life. He is never upset when things don’t go his way. He’s flexible and content, and that’s inspiring too.” -- Caroline J., Maine

6. “I would have to say my daughter’s team spirit is one of the things I admire most. She’s the sort of kid who will always take one for the team, never puts herself first, and is always thinking of others’ needs and feelings. It’s amazing how selfless she is, especially for a 10-year-old!” -- Karen R., California

7. “My kid has this huge personality. He is just a total character. Anyone who meets him notices it right away. I don’t know where he gets it, or if he was just born with it, but it’s so unique. I admire that most about him.” -- Kate B., Florida

8. “My daughter is really sensitive, but she is also really tough and resilient. Even though small things hurt her feelings easily, when it comes to major challenges, she seems to never shy away or let her feelings hold her back. I feel like she can overcome anything she puts her mind to, and I really admire that, because it’s not easy.” -- Helena H., New York

9. “My son has a beautiful voice, and he loves to sing. People always comment on how soulful he sounds. It almost makes me cry.” -- Jane K., Florida

10. “I think it’s my daughter’s energy. She’s always bounding with life and joy, from sunrise to sunset, even though she has never been a good sleeper. She has a life-threatening disease, and we’re always exhausted. She’s the sort of person who is always on the go, looking for the next adventure, eager to try the next activity, climb the next tree, read the next book, meet a new friend. It’s awesome. I wish I had some of that!” -- Leanne S., New York
