You’re not wrong. Scientists have found hormonal changes during pregnancy and childbirth can affect a woman’s brain function well after she leaves the delivery room.

And you’re not alone either. We asked mom to share some of their funniest “mommy brain made me do it” confessions. Here’s what our kids do to us:

More from P&G everyday: 5 Signs You Have a Serious Case of Mommy Brain

1. “I saw someone waving on TV … and I waved back.” -- Chrissy S.

2. “I was searching frantically for my car keys during our rare date night because I thought I had lost them, that our night was ruined, and our car was stolen ... only for my husband to chime in mid-meltdown because we had driven his truck!” -- Hannah M.

3. “I once poured bacon grease into my morning coffee.” -- Dara B.

4. “I put ice cream away in the cabinet instead of the freezer!” -- Nicole R.

5. “I put a dirty diaper in the laundry hamper. I didn’t find the source of the smell for a whole week!” -- Erin J.

7. “When I was pregnant with my second, I drove my 4-year-old to summer camp and tried to drop him off, but it was the wrong summer camp!” -- Julie R.E.

8. “My daughter was a runner when she was a toddler. I always had to keep my eye on her, because if I turned for even a second in a store she’d be gone. One day I took her to a local street fair, and we’d stopped to watch a children’s music performer. The song ended, and I realized I’d been wrapped up watching him and hadn’t been watching her. I started freaking out and calling her name, only for her to say ‘What?’ I’d been holding her hand the whole time.” -- Kristy S.

9. “I once bought presents for my kids, hid them so they wouldn’t find them, then couldn’t find them myself. I had to buy new presents! Of course I ended up finding them months later, in a place I swear I had looked!” -- Melanie K.

10. “I walked my son all the way into nursery school, walked him all the way to his classroom, and somehow never realized that he’d taken his shoes and socks off in the car. We were standing there talking to the teacher when she asked where they were. I was so embarrassed.” -- Alba G.

11. “I went for my six-week check-up after having my second daughter. The OB/GYN left the room and told me I’d meet him up front. I was so sleep-deprived, I walked out of the room and to the front desk without putting my pants back on.” -- Tina B.

12. “I went out to grab coffee with a friend. After I ordered, I saw that the corner table that’s farthest from the door was open, so I went and sat down with my toddler. I figured it would be easiest to keep him out of people’s hair there. My friend showed up, she got her coffee, and we sat and talked for almost an hour. It wasn’t until I went to leave that the barista asked me if I still wanted that coffee. I’d totally forgotten.” -- Amy B.
