Having more than one child is often a struggle. There’s more fighting, more noise, and way, way more laundry. But there’s also a whole lot more love, and those sweet moments shared between siblings make all the hard times totally worth it. These 13 moms share the best moment of brotherly and sisterly love they’ve witnessed so far.

Sticking Together
“I remember telling my son Steven when he was about six years old that when he grew up he would be able to visit me, and he may have children of his own to bring. Then he asked, ‘What do you mean, visit you?’ I explained he would have his own house by then. He looked at his sister Jocelyn, then 10 years old, and told her, ‘Don't worry, I will pick you up, and we can go together.’"- Della H.

Shared Admiration
“My cousin was watching my kids while I was in surgery. She told me that when she was driving the kids to my house after I was discharged, she told them, ‘Make sure your mommy doesn't lift anything or clean too much. She's stubborn.’ She said my daughter replied, ‘No, she's not. She's perfect.’ And my son said, ‘Yeah, our mommy is the best mommy in the world." With the surgery and my husband being out of state for work, I was struggling with the guilt of feeding them convenience food and having the kids pick up chores that I couldn't do. Their response made me cry.” -Herchel S.

A Thoughtful Gift
“A few years ago, my son snuck into his little sister's craft supplies and made her a beaded bracelet all by himself, then hid it in his closet to give it to her [as a holiday gift]. Mind you, he's not into that sort of thing, so she was truly touched by the gesture!” -Kim B.

A Helping Hand
“My oldest son (10) tying my youngest son’s shoe when no one was watching.” -Jennifer B.

Soothing Reassurance
“My daughter was having a tantrum on the floor, and I was not having it so I went on doing my household chores. Then I saw my son sitting next to her, patting her, and saying, ‘It's okay, don't cry.’ So sweet and also a learning moment for me!” -Kristel A.

Princess Protection
“I had three sons before we ended up with a daughter, and when my husband brought them to meet their sister at the hospital, my eldest said, ‘We are the three knights, and she is the little princess. We will protect her always.’” -Tara W.

Practice Makes Perfect
“[After] introducing my new baby girl to her big brother (he’s five), he's starting to get her name kind if right. But I overheard him practicing her name, over and over: Octavia, Octavia, Octavia. It made my heart melt. He is so, so in love with her.” -Kate L.

Enjoying the New Baby
“My first three kids were born within three years of each other, so they never really experienced each other [as] babies. (Although seeing a 3-year-old give her 6-month-old baby sister a bottle is pretty adorable.) My fourth baby (currently almost five) didn't come along for another three years, so seeing them with her has been just the sweetest. My current favorite is any time one of the older siblings reads her a story. It is just so cute!” -Kate J.

Post-Op Protection
“When my youngest was 15 months old he had minor surgery, and the night we came home my 6-year-old insisted on sleeping in [his] room so she could be ‘his very caring night nurse.’” - Gretchen B.

Besties from the Beginning
“When my 4-year-old was asked who her best friend was, without missing a beat, she answered that it was her 2-year-old brother.” -Robin B.

Better Together
“Every time my 14- and 17-year-olds sing and harmonize.” - Amy M.

Bullies Be Gone
“We were at the pool and a bigger kid picked on my younger son. My older son quietly went over to the other kid and said, ‘You need to say sorry.’” -Madeleine D.

A Doubly Sweet Surprise
“It was raining and daddy was gone, so we went for a pajama donut run. I looked back and my two youngest were holding hands the whole way home.” -Chaunie B.
