20 Signs You're in Desperate Need of a Date Night

Are you in your sweats each day by 5 p.m.? It might be time for a date night!

I won't lie: I kind of hate the term "date night." To me, it insinuates that you and your significant other are so busy that you need to allot special time to reconnect. But, let's face it: Most of us are so busy that we need to allot special time to reconnect with our partners. Sad, but true.

Wondering if your relationship desperately needs some quality one-on-one time? Here, 20 signs you're in dire need of a date night.

1. You cannot remember the last time you or your partner didn't have dishes to do and crumbs to wipe up after a meal.

2. You absolutely can’t recall the last time you and your partner made it through an entire dinner conversation uninterrupted. Or any conversation for that matter.

3. The majority of your conversations with your significant other revolve around children and/or work.

4. Your dress-up clothes are … oh, who are you kidding? You haven't bought any dress-up clothes in five years!

5. You can't remember the last time you left the house with a bag smaller than an overnight tote. (In fact, most of your clutches are in your child's toy bin.)

6. You can't remember the last time you dined at a restaurant that didn't provide paper placemats and crayons.

7. You're typically in your sweats by 5 p.m. every day.

8. There’s a third party in your relationship, and it’s whatever show you're binge-watching at the moment.

9. Usually, when either you or your partner leaves the house after 8 p.m., it's for two pints of ice cream. And diapers.

10. Your child wants you to leave her with a babysitter.
