When you've been married or with someone for a long time, it can be hard to remember what drew you to your partner in the first place. Sure, we all come to realize amazing new things about our significant others the longer we're with them, but few things are as magical as that very first spark – the thing that let us know they were The One.

We asked nine husbands to share the reason they chose their wives. Their sweet answers might remind you of what you love about your spouse.

1. "I've known my wife since we were in junior high. I was always drawn to her quirky sense of humor and carefree attitude. When I'm with her, I worry less." -- Billy A., 33, married nine months

2. "Because she makes me a better person." -- Jeff W., 35, married five years

3. "It sounds bad, but the thing that first drew me to her was that she was hot. Still is." -- Justin V., 36, married four years

4. "When I met my wife, she was working at Carvel. I walked in with the girl I was dating at the time and just knew. We had an instant connection. Also, she gave me extra sprinkles for free." -- Bart F., 66, married 34 years

5. "My wife is one of the few people who can make me completely crack up. At first, we were just friends, but soon I realized that I liked being with her so much more than not being with her." -- Bill P., 37, married six years

6. "It sounds cheesy, but there was just something about her. She was standing outside of a restaurant with a few of our mutual friends. Everyone was laughing and talking, and she just seemed so calm and cool in the middle of everything. She still is the calm, cool one in our relationship." -- Nick W., 29, married four years

8. "My wife is smarter than me. I don't think that about too many people." -- Ben W., 32, married six years

9. "She's the best kisser. Ever." -- David T., 31, married three years
