9 Things Moms Wish Husbands Did More

9 Things Moms Wish Husbands Did More

Because every mom does much more than her half of the work, let’s face it!

By Lorraine Allen

Each family splits chores and childcare duties in whichever ways they decide, and every family is unique. But no matter how much a couple tries to do things equally, many moms still wish their partners did a little more of one thing or another to help at home. Here, nine moms share their thoughts:

1. “Folding laundry. The ‘I don’t fold so well' excuses just doesn’t cut it.” – Suzie H., mom to three

2. “Honestly, I could give a list of about a hundred things… but my top choice would be grocery shopping, which includes meal planning, since you’re buying all the food for the next several meals, lunches, snacks, etc. Why are grocery stores filled with moms doing all the food shopping, all the time?” – Jenna G., mom to twins

3. “Dusting. Have you ever seen anyone’s husband dust? I definitely haven’t.” – Claire F., mom to one

4. “Calming the kids down. My husband is awesome at riling them up, (especially at bed time, worst time of the day for me!) But for some reason calming them down, or soothing them when they are hysterical or sad always falls to me. It’s not like I have some magic wand, you know?” – Felicia R., mom to four

5. “One word: Organizing. Anything. Just putting anything in order.” – Erin B., mom to two

6. “Planning and scheduling. I’m not the family secretary…. Or am I? Arg. I totally am! But I don’t want to be. Why me?!” – Maya Z., mom to two

7. “Just being there. I always have to make sure he’s watching the kids if I want to go shower, or take the dog for a walk. But he just assumes I’m always taking care of them, and will walk out to mow the lawn, or drive to the store without checking to make sure I’m free.” – Anne C., mom to two

8. “Helping to keep the house look less like a nut house and more like a home. Just little things like picking up socks, or crayons or toys kids drop all day. Scrubbing the banana off the walls after the baby’s meals. Throwing out dead flowers sitting in a vase. Taking down the holiday sign before May, that sort of thing. How does he not notice?” – Vanessa H., mom to four

9. “Answering the phone and chatting with our kids’ friends parents. Just because I may talk more doesn’t mean I want to talk to everyone, all the time.” – Brigitte L., mom to two

This is a testimony about a Spell Doctor named Great Malawi via meiismcenter@gmail.com, that restored my hope and gave me reasons to love my life again. It was my first time to order for a spell or spiritual help because I don’t believe in them; my religion forbids spells or witches. I had no choice than to connect with the Great Malawi when my Husband-To-Be and my Baby Father left me because he was sleeping with my friend.
