My family is from Puerto Rico. My grandparents came here with my parents when my parents were young. My grandmother passed away in 2006 from breast cancer and all the way to the end she held strong for our family. She raised 10 children on her own. We have since still kept the traditions she had started and have many get togethers. She taught me how to make pasteles and arroz con gandules and this is still a tradition all the women do every year before the holidays.

The greatest family gatherings...that's what makes me proud. No matter how far we are, come a get together or holiday and everyone shows their love. Being latina is not just a word is a way of life...trying to be the best at what we know we can be, and sometimes a little more. Did I mention I'm obsessed with flan. Yea I love being Puerto Rican!

It's the tostones and lechon what makes me a Puerto RIcan. It's the Wepa greeting with I receive my friends. From the best coffee to the all coconut dessert I am so proud of being born insuch a beautiful island and have that sazon and flavor on me all time.
