Looking for a fun spring break getaway without breaking the bank? Well, you’re in luck! These 7 destinations are sure to make your family and your wallet happy!

1. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Many families flock to Myrtle Beach as soon as school is out for the summer. The warm water, amazing restaurants and exciting family attractions make it one of the most popular destinations on the east coast.

Most people overlook spring as a time to visit because they think it will be too cold; however, while the water may be to cool to take a dip in, the weather in Myrtle Beach during the spring is just about perfect.

You can take advantage of deep discounts and lower crowds by visiting in March and April.

2. Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C. is one of my favorite cheap destinations for spring. D.C. comes alive in the springtime with the famous blooming cherry blossom trees. Combine that with a plethora of free museums for families, and you have all the ingredients for a fun and affordable spring vacation!

3. Sanibel Island, Florida
Outdoor families will love the cheap outdoor activities that abound on Sanibel Island. The island is perfect for shell hunting (probably the best shelling in the country), biking, kayaking or just sitting on lounge chair on the beach and listening to the surf.

Hotels can be found at a great discounts in April and May.

4. Savannah, Georgia
Rich with history and true southern charm, Savannah is a wonderful choice for a spring vacation. It won’t cost you anything to walk around Savannah’s breathtaking city squares, stroll its cobblestone streets or even hop over the bridge and explore Tybee Island.

Dining in Savannah is a must-do and can be done on the cheap. Savannah restaurants are not stingy on their portions, so your whole family can eat amazing food for a lot less money than other destinations.

5. Pacific Grove, California
One of the best beach towns on the west coast, Pacific Grove is a Victorian haven. It’s set away from the hustle and bustle of larger beach towns, yet close to world-class attractions like the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Since most people flock to the warm beaches of southern California during spring break, you’ll have this little town practically to yourself and can take advantage of great discounts!

6. Puerto Rico
Looking for an exotic getaway without the exotic price tag? Puerto Rico is one of the most affordable ways to experience an island vacation. Since Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, many of the budget airlines fly directly to Puerto Rico for a lot less that you may think.

Hotels abound in this tourist destination so you can easily find a deal, and the incredible food is much less expensive than in the States. Whether you have nature lovers, foodies or history buffs in your family, you are sure to find something fun for everyone without having to take out a second mortgage.

7. National Parks
Lastly, let’s not discount the beauty and tranquility of our amazing National Parks. This is probably the most affordable destination available to families. No matter what state you live in, there is a National Park nearby waiting to captivate your entire family. For the cost of a tank of gas, a picnic lunch and maybe a hotel stay, your family can have an unforgettable experience hiking, exploring, kayaking and much more.

I’ve enjoyed sharing my favorite affordable spring destinations with you, now it’s time for you to do the same! What are your favorite affordable destinations for a spring vacation?
