  1. Use the back of doors whenever possible. I love to use removable hooks when I want to use the back of cabinet doors to stash away cleaning supplies, rags, blow dryers, brushes, measuring spoons. You can also use locker door organizers and/ or office solutions to store message pads, pens, makeup, etc. behind doors (such as your medicine cabinet, kitchen cabinet near the phone or desk cabinets).
  2. Use square or rectangle bins whenever possible, instead of round. You will get more bang for your buck when it comes to usable space.
  3. Move your CDs & DVDs to a disc storage box or cd wallet. You'll save a ton of space and can create an inventory of your discs, to use when you want to watch or listen to something.
  4. Whenever possible, make all your shelves adjustable. When purchasing new furniture or renovating your existing space, look for solutions that have adjustable shelves. It allows you to manipulate the spaces to work for you, instead of you having to work around the pre-set shelving.
  5. When looking for organization inspiration, always think of who does it best. For example, for clothes, head to a clothing store in the do they fold their items? Trust me, they need to make it easy on themselves and have many wonderful tricks, such as a folding board. When you're organizing your pantry, take a look in a grocery store or restaurant. How do they store their food and what can you learn from them? There's always someone whose entire business is to store or house a large quantity of items that gets used constantly. Don't be afraid to take a lead from the pros.

Sometimes clutter can drive us to the brink of madness, and often times creates more anxiety than we would like to think. When you feel like you are getting in over your head, take a deep breath and enjoy the abundance. With these tips, you will be one step closer to a simpler life, and the organization of your mess will hopefully be just the beginning of something great!
