The Shades of White
White isn’t just white anymore. Cream, eggshell, ivory, Navajo white and vanilla, they’re all shades of white. Wear them one at a time and you might not be able to tell the difference, but together, they clash. Don’t mix and match these shades as your white will lose its simple clarity.
White with Basic Colors:
- White with black: Black with white can be casual, but it’s still quite an elegant combination. Make sure your outfit fits the situation, as there is only one thing worse than being underdressed – being overdressed.
- White with red/green: Perfect for casual days, but be careful how they match. White tops often go better with colorful bottoms, while that’s not always true the other way round. If you do choose white trousers, pay attention to the type of fabric and make sure they’re not see through.
Wash whites with whites, and separate out colors and patterned whites. Use a laundry detergent that’s great on whites. And when the wash is over, dry your whites in the sun outside: It’ll help your whites shine even brighter.
White Needs Care
White clothes get dirty the easiest, and the smallest spot can ruin your outfit. Makeup stains are common, so be careful with your lipstick. If they do get stained, don’t worry –just pre-treat and wash as normal.
Those Little Details
When they’re white, bright and fresh, there’s nothing better than a white outfit. Sure, they may need a little extra care, but it’s worth it in the end. Just be sure to accessorize and keep your whites in the best condition with the right detergent.
