Let's think about some of the best things winter brings: breaking out the cozy sweaters; snuggling next to a warm fireplace; the pristine beauty of a blanket of fresh, untouched snowfall; pelting hapless victims with perfectly packed snowball after snowball. Ah yes, winter brings a smile to all.

One of the most delicious ways to enjoy winter is with some hot cocoa. A cup of piping hot, chocolatey cocoa can warm the heart and soul of all who are in need of a brief respite from winter's chill.

We aren't talking about that packet of chalky powder with the shriveled up marshmallow-esque bits that you dump into a mug before adding water. Goodness, no. We're talking about homemade cocoa lovingly tended to in your slow cooker, a concoction so rich and creamy that it's worth the extra TLC to make.
