It’s easy to incorporate vegetables into your daily life, even if you (or a little one) aren’t too fond of their flavor. Blend veggies like broccoli and carrots with fruits, herbs and spices to create sweet, refreshing beverages. Start with our two simple recipes, and then experiment with a variety of other ingredients!

Broccoli Blueberry Smoothie
Serves 1
Prep time: 5 minutes
You’ll need: A blender

Ingredients
1 cup of frozen blueberries
1/2 cup of steamed broccoli
1 cup of cranberry juice
1/2 cup of low-fat plain yogurt
1 handful of ice (2-3 cubes)

Instructions
1. Add all the ingredients to the blender and mix for 1 minute.

Spiced Carrot Smoothie
Serves 1
Prep time: 5 minutes
You’ll need: A blender

Ingredients
1/2 cup apple juice
1/4 cup applesauce
1 cup cooked and chopped carrots
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup low-fat yogurt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 handful of ice (2-3 cubes)

Instructions
1. Add all the ingredients to the blender and mix for one minute.
2. Sprinkle cinnamon on top if desired.

Aside from being addictively delicious, smoothies are the perfect way to “sneak” veggies into your kids’ diets. Get healthy and love every minute of it!
