Basic Blackberry Jam Recipe

Make a delicious, homemade blackberry jam at home with just a few ingredients.

4 pints blackberries
1 box premium fruit pectin
6.5 cups sugar

1. Remove leaves and stems from blackberries and wash under cold running water. Use a potato masher to crush the berries. Run about half of the pulp through a sieve to remove some of the seeds, if desired.
2. Place berries in saucepan and stir in the pectin. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
3. Add sugar all at once and stir constantly, bringing mixture back to a rolling boil. Boil for one minute then remove from heat.
4. Ladle hot mixture into prepared jars and process for ten minutes in canner.
