2 lbs of ground beef
4-6 brioche buns
1 block of blue cheese
2 Granny Smith apples
8 strips of bacon
2 red onions
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Canola oil

  1. Preheat grill to medium heat. Once the grill is hot prep it for cooking by brushing the grill grates with canola oil
  2. Precook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy and set to one side
  3. Mix the ground beef in a bowl and form into 4 to 6 patties. Season both sides of each patty with a large pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Place the burger patties on the grill for approximately 5 minutes on each side or until cooked through. Add blue cheese directly onto the burgers to melt
Tip: Make the burger patties slightly larger than the size of the buns. They will shrink a bit during cooking and this will ensure they are the perfect size for the buns when cooked.
  4. Cut the red onions into long thick slices. Season with canola oil, salt and pepper to taste. Place onions on the grill until caramelized. Toast buns on grill if desired
  5. Cut the Granny Smith apples into paper thin slices and set to one side
  6. Once the burgers are cooked, place each burger a bun and top them with the onion, apple slices, arugula and crispy bacon. Brush the top half of the buns with mayonnaise and place on top of the burgers. Enjoy
