Have you ever started digging through your holiday décor and realized it just may not be the style you want this year? Instead of going out and spending money on new decorations, think about changing the ones you already own.
1. Spray Paint or Glitter
If you want to change up your color scheme this year, try spray painting or dipping old ornaments in glitter. This is a quick and easy way to bring new life to old ornaments. Or, use chalkboard spray paint and write holiday messages and drawings on them.
2. Make or Change out Pillowcases
If you have unused pillows, make simple pillowcase covers for the couch or sitting room area. Choose from all types of fun holiday fabric, as they bring a fun and festive look to the holidays.
3. Frame It up
Change out pictures to correspond with the holiday. Use pictures from last year’s holiday as décor or print art for the holiday and put it into a frame.
4. Bring Nature in
Fill a clear vase with beautiful mini gourds. Decorate around it with holly, burlap, pinecones, wreaths and mini-topiary trees. Using nature as your centerpiece is an inexpensive and timeless way to decorate for the holidays.
5. Repurpose Ornaments
Before tossing surplus ball ornaments back in storage, try placing them in a clear vase or bowl for an elegant, eye-catching display.
6. Catch the Clearance
Go to the store the day after a holiday and set a small budget to spend on new holiday decorations. Pack those new decorations up with old ones to use next season.
