Cinnamon Vanilla Apple Crisp

Laila shares her recipe for a simply delicious apple crisp that’s perfect for any season.

Ingredients for Filling
4 to 5 medium baking apples, cored and sliced thin
1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup
¼ cup organic 100 percent apple juice
½ teaspoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt

Ingredients for Topping
1 cup quick oats
2 tablespoons almond flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ cup raw brown sugar
2 tablespoons room-temperature coconut oil or butter


1. Preheat the oven to 325 F

2. To make the filling, mix together the apple juice, lemon juice, honey or agave syrup, cinnamon and sea salt

3. Add the apples and toss well to coat evenly

4. Place apples in a 10" square or round baking dish

5. To make the topping, in a small bowl mix the coconut oil or butter and vanilla extract

6. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon

7. Add the almond flour and oats, and then toss together with a fork until the mixture has a sandy texture with pea-sized chunks

8. Sprinkle topping over the apples

9. Bake at 325 F for about 30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown
