Decorative Picture Frame Tray

Transform a picture frame into a decorative tray with these easy instructions.

Please note: This tray is not recommended for use as a serving tray.

Materials
Wooden picture frame
Roll of vinyl wallpaper, color and pattern of your choice
Craft knife
Spray glue
Ruler
Pencil
(2) Cabinet handles
(4) 1-inch blunt point narrow thread screws
Drill with 1/8-inch drill bit

Instructions

  1. Remove the backboard from the frame and in a well-ventilated area, apply spray glue over the entire backboard surface. Lay the wallpaper over the backboard and press it down. Flip the backboard over and use a craft knife to cut the excess wallpaper from around the edges

  1. Put the backboard back into the frame and secure it in place with the frame’s original hardware

Adding handles:

  1. Use a ruler to find the mid-point of each of the shorter sides of the frame and mark it lightly with a pencil. The handles will be centered over these marks
  2. Use a ruler to measure the distance between the holes in the handle. Mark the distance between the handles on the frame using the mid-point mark from Step 4 as your center point


  1. Drill 1/8-inch holes through the handle marks on the frame. Thread a 1-inch screw through each hole from the back to the front. Place the handles over the screws and tighten the screws to hold the handles in place
