INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Set the folding chair up and measure the seat panel from front-to-back, as well as from side-to-side.
  2. Cut out a seat panel from the upholstery fabric to the measurements of the seat, adding a 2-inch allowance on all four sides.
  3. Cut a piece of batting to the exact measurements of the seat panel.
  4. Close the folding chair and lay it down flat. Place the batting on the seat panel and secure it in place by adding 1 staple about a half-inch from the front and back edges of the seat.
  5. Then wrap the fabric seat panel tightly around the seat of the chair and the batting. Fold the extra fabric underneath each side to create a clean edge. Wrap the excess length underneath the chair, and place one staple in the center of the underside panel. Continue applying staples, working your way out to each side.
  6. Open the chair back up, and place 3-4 staples in a row along the outside edges where the fabric meets the wood.
  7. Repeat steps 1 through 5 for the back panel of the chair. This time, be sure to measure and cut enough fabric so that it wrap all the way around the back seat panel once. Hide your seam and staples by making sure the seam ends up on the bottom edge of the back of the chair.
  8. Once all the fabric is secured, use ribbon and a hot glue gun to add trim to the edges where the fabric meets the wood. Do this to both the seat and back panel to hide all the staples.
