Instructions

CREATING THE CALENDAR:

1. Combine Part A (the activator) of the 2-part dry erase kit with Part B (the base) in a paint tray, and use the foam roller to coat the entire Lauan board. Let it dry for 1 hour

2. Use a T-square and pencil to create a grid for the calendar. Each square will be 3 3/4” x 3 3/4” with 1” tape on either side. Begin with a vertical line directly down the center of the Lauan board

3. Apply the first strip of 1” metallic tape on the vertical line down the center of the board wrapping the ends around the back of the board. This will prevent the ends of the tape from lifting over time. Use the tape measure and mark 3 3/4” on either side, and apply a strip of metallic tape on the outside of these marks. Continue until the entire board is covered with vertical metallic strips

4. Measure and locate the center of the board horizontally, and mark with a pencil. Apply a strip of 1” metallic tape across the board along the horizontal center line wrapping the ends around the back of the board

5. Use the tape measure and mark 3 3/4” on either side, and apply a strip of metallic tape on the outside of these marks. Continue until the entire board is covered with horizontal metallic strips

6. Prepare the calendar be attached to the back of the art piece by pre-drilling 6 holes around the perimeter of the Lauan board. One hole in each corner and one on the center perimeter of both vertical sides

7. To create a writing space at the bottom of the calendar, remove the bottom-most horizontal strip of tape and the vertical tape within that space, leaving 8 rows down and 7 columns across

8. Secure the tape in place by adding a 2” perimeter of tape around the entire board

STEPS FOR HANGING:

1. On the top edge of the canvas, measure 6 inches in on each side and mark with a pencil. Drill a hole into both marks with a drill and pre-drill bit

2. Screw the screw eye hooks in each drilled hole

3. Locate a desired hanging location on the wall, and secure the 3/4” pipe flanges to the wall using a drill and 1 1/2” wood screws through the holes in the flange. Hang the project on the wall with the art side out for style, or the calendar side out for function
