Instructions
1. Start with a 1” (thick) x 15” (wide) x 48” (tall) piece of wood. Using the diagram, trace the template (A) on the wood board and cut 5 pieces with a Chop Saw. This cannot be pre-cut at a hardware store

2. Now, cut 5 pieces using the template (B)

3. Finally, cut 8 pieces using the template (C)

3a - Template (A): Using a speed square, draw a line every 8 inches on a 1” x 15” x 48” (5 lines total); those lines are the placements for the template (A) wood pieces

3b - Place the 13-inch side flat on the board and align the 9 1/2-inch side to the left, leaving 2 inches of space on the right. Using 3/4” corner braces and 1/2” screws, attach the shelf to the board, leaving 1 inch of space from the edges of the shelf. Repeat for all 5 shelves

4. Template (B): Using a speed square, draw a line every 8 inches on a 1” x 12” x 48” (5 lines total); those lines are the placements for the template (B)

4b - Place the 10-inch side flat on the board and align the 8 1/2-inch side to the left, leaving 2 inches of space on the right. Using 3/4” corner braces and 1/2” screws, attach the shelf to the board, leaving 1 inch of space from the edges of the shelf. Repeat for all 5 shelves

5. Template (C): Using a speed square, draw a line every 7 inches on a 1” x 9” x 36” (4 lines total); those lines are the placements of the template (C). Repeat on the second 1” x 9” x 36” board

5b - Place the 9-inch side flat on the board and align the 7 1/2-inch side to the left, leaving 1 inch of space on the right. Using 3/4” corner braces and 1/2” screws, attach the shelf to the board, leaving 1 inch of space from the edges of the shelf. Repeat for all 4 shelves

6. When all 4 units have been assembled, paint them in a color that complements the space

7. Using a level, arrange the units on the wall as desired and mark the placement of the top and bottom shelves of each unit on the wall

8. Once every unit location is marked, take your L-bracket and place them on the marks. Using a screw gun and 2 1/2” screws, screw the brackets to the wall. Use 2 L-brackets per unit, for a total of 8 brackets and (16) 2 1/2” screws

9. After attaching the brackets, place the units on top of the brackets and secure them using 1/2” screws and toggle bolts (used when there are no wall studs).
