Materials
½ tablespoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon hand soap
½ pitcher hot water
Sunlight-developed dye (green)
11" × 14" piece of studio watercolor paper (or desired size)
Frame with mat in desired size
Plexiglass to fit over the sheet of paper
Measuring cups
Portrait photo (face profile printed on printer paper)
Pencil
Small paint rollers
Paper plates
Large bowl
Glass cleaner
Latex gloves
Rag

Steps

1. Pour the sunlight-developed dye on a paper plate. Use a paint roller to roll the dye onto the studio watercolor paper

2. Use scissors to cut out the profile picture. Make sure to cut out all the little details like hair, eyelashes and lips

3. Place the picture on the watercolor paper, and then cover with the Plexiglass and let sit for 4 hours in the sunshine

4. Remove the Plexiglass. Mix ½ tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of hand soap in the pitcher of hot water and pour into a large bowl

5. Remove the printed picture and submerge the watercolor paper face up into the water-vinegar-hand soap mixture

6. Swish the paper in the mixture for about 1 minute

7. Remove the paper from the bowl and use a rag to wipe off any excess mixture to prevent wrinkles and bubbles. Let it dry

8. Use glass cleaner and a rag to clean the frame glass

9. Once the watercolor paper is dry, insert it into your frame and show it off!
