Instructions

1. Look for an image that you would like to see transferred to your pillow. Black and white line images tend to give a vintage feel. You can use lettering to spell out words or even a drawing that you scan into your computer. As a starting point you can also use an online search engine and search for “Black and white vintage line image”

2. Once you have found an image that you like, save it to your computer

3. Place a sheet of the iron-on transfer paper inside your printer. Follow your printer’s instructions on whether the paper should be face up or face down in the paper tray

4. Print the image onto the iron-on transfer paper in a size that works well for your pillow. This maybe one large image that you can place in the center of the pillow or a series of smaller images that can be laid out in a pattern

5. Once your images are printed on the iron-on transfer paper, cut them out leaving no more than ¼” of excess paper around each image

6. Place your pillowcase on a hard surface, not a padded ironing board, and smooth out any wrinkles. Lay the images face down on your pillowcase in your desired arrangement. There is no right or wrong way to position them, just have fun

Tip: The bottom of the pillow has a zipper opening so position your images on the pillow so the zipper is on the bottom

7. Remove any water used for steam from your iron. Never use steam when transferring an image, it will stop it from transferring correctly. Set your iron to the hottest temperature

8. Iron over each decal, applying firm, even pressure, especially to the edges for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Check to see if the transfer is fully adhered to the fabric by gently lifting up an edge. If the image doesn’t appear to have adhered completely, continue ironing and checking in 30 second increments until it is firmly attached

9. Once the image is firmly in place, carefully remove the paper, leaving the image on the pillow (See image below)

10. Place a cushion inside your newly decaled pillowcase
