  1. Remove the tray from the tray table. Use a wet rag to clean the surface of the tray, and then dry it thoroughly
  2. In a well-ventilated area, spray paint both sides of the tray in the color of your choice. Allow paint to dry, and then use 150-grit sandpaper to gently sand off any clumped spots of paint to make the surface smooth. Repeat this step to apply a second coat of paint, and then gently sand again
  3. Turn the napkin upside down and center it over the tray. Press the napkin up against the recessed tray edge and trace around it using a felt-tip marker. With fabric scissors, cut out the shape on the inside of the ink line
  4. Apply spray glue onto the back of the napkin, paying special attention to the edges
  5. Center the napkin back onto the tray and press it down
  6. Brush a generous layer of polyurethane on top of the napkin and tray edges to seal the surface. Allow it to dry
  7. Reattach the tray to the tray table
